Getting your house show ready can seem like a huge task. You may have a lot to do; you may have a little to do. Either way there are some things everyone are going to do! I’m sharing with you today 5 Easy Steps to Get Your House Ready to Show!
This is a sponsored post, but all thoughts are my own.
We are currently right in the middle of selling our home. It’s a pretty stressful experience, especially with kids! We have to get the house clean, and get out with little notice. Not only am I personally experiencing this, but I also work as a professional real estate photograph. I see home after home and can pick out the ones that will sell fast, and the ones that will sit on the market. Today I want to share with you 5 tips that will get your house show ready, and help you when it’s time to get out the door for your showing! Remember to not get yourself in to deep, if you can’t get it all done hire a contractor.
The most important thing our realtor told us and the one thing all buyers made comments about was the paint. Painting is something easy and not to expensive, but it makes a huge difference. We bought a cheap paint and it got marked up so easily. We ended up painting again. Don’t skip on this part. Use a nice paint and get the job done right.
I know this may seem pretty obvious, but it’s very important. Remember you are competing with brand new spotless clean homes! It’s important that you clean all areas of the home even spots you don’t think the buyer will see because they probably will! If you have pets you are going to want to make sure all hair, food, and any pet smell is gone!
This step will not only help your house look better, but also help when it’s time for a showing. Less stuff means less cleaning. I made sure that I kept toys organized and under control so they were easy to clean up! I also made sure to take down all personal pictures. Remember the buyers want to picture themselves in the home not feel like they are in your house. Make sure you de-clutter everything, your buyers will be looking in closets and the basement as well!
4. Spend your money on the most important rooms:
We all know the two most important rooms in the house, the kitchen and the bathrooms. People will pass on a house or purchase a home based on these two rooms. If you are going to put money into your home you are going to want to invest in one of those rooms. If you don’t know what you are doing when it comes to updating or remodeling (like me!) then get a hold of a contractor. Use someone like Contractor Connection to find one. They also back their projects with a 3 year warranty. You can find information onKitchen remodeling and Bathroom remodeling just enter your zip code and get an estimate.
5. Curb appeal:
The outside of the home is the first thing a buyer sees! Before our home went up for sale re touched up the from yard and even painted the front door. Make sure you keep the yard nice and the front porch inviting.
Make sure you are getting great pictures and suggest that your realtor hire a professional.
