It’s almost summertime! The end of the school year is here, and it’s time to plan the best summer yet. Today I wanted to share with you 5 tips on having the next grill out you have, and my go to recipe for the event.
There is just something about summer that screams, memories. Growing up each year, the school year would slowly come to an end and each year I told my self, “this is going to be the best summer ever”. I would work on a summer bucket list full of fun activities or exciting trips and each summer had a theme song. The habit even continued to my college years. Wanting to make each summer better then the next. Full of fun times with friends and family. Even as an adult I have the same mind set. I think of all the fun things I want to do with the kids this summer and the vacations we will plan. One thing on this years summer bucket list, hosting a grill out! It’s the perfect summer event. I want to share with you 5 tips on making your grill out this summer the best. If you want even more ideas for the best summer ever check out, Share a Coke and a Song with CVS .
1. The Food:
The food is an important part of your grill out. You want to make sure it’s easy to put together but tastes great. My go to recipe, honey mustard grilled chicken.
Grilled chicken is a great go to for grill outs. I made homemade honey mustard for it and it was so yummy!
Put some foil on the grill and add veggies! We love to grill corn, asparagus, bell peppers, onions, and potatoes. We put butter and Parmesan cheese on top of our corn.
- Honey, 1/2 cup
- Dijon Mustard, 1/2 cup
- Salt, 1/8 tsp (or a dash)
- Pepper, 1/8 tsp (or a dash)
- Paprika, 1/8 tsp (or a dash)
- Whisk together all ingredients. Place in the fridge until ready to marinate chicken.
2. The Drinks:
Through out the party everyone is grabbing a drink. When you’re hosting a party you want to be able to enjoy the fun with your guest! That’s why I grabbed Coca-Cola™ and Coca-Cola Zero™ at my CVS before the party started. Check out the Best Summer Ever Deals at your local CVS. Buy 2 20 oz bottles of Coca-Cola products for $3. A good deal and a store that’s open 24/hours. Yep that’s why we love CVS! Fill up a bucket with ice and Coca-Cola, you and your guest can grab them and go through out the entire party with out you having to worry about it.
3. The Music
The music is so import to set a fun mood for your grill out. No messing with mix tapes though like my 6th grade summer. Just download an app and play all the best songs. Music really helps set the mood and the songs will bring back these fun summer memories. You can use a fun music app like Shazam. You can download the Shazam App (it’s available for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Android, and more) and get your Coca-Cola Share a Song!
4. The Activities:
If your grill out will have kids at it you will need to come up with some fun activities. We have a trampoline that the kids love to play on. Set out a picnic blanket with bubbles, balls, water guns, and lots of fun outdoor games for the kids. This will keep them entertained so you can catch up and talk with friends.
5. The Memories:
Don’t let the stress of hosting a party get to you. Summer time is about making memories. Enjoy your time with friends and family and make some awesome summer memories together.
