Take all the questions about kids using oils, and throw them all out the window because I have your problems solved. If you are like me and love using or even just love the thought of using essential oils on your kids; but wonder all the times what to use when, wonder no longer my friend. I want to share with you my everyday oils I use for my kids, and the easiest ways to use them. Rocky Mountain Oils have always been my favorite, and know with their new kids line they take all the work and questions away. They are the easiest oils to use for kids! They are pre-diluted and are safe to apply topically on children who are two years or older. They combined the oils you need with fractioned coconut oil so all you need to do is roll them on! Of course talking to your doctor and letting them know you are using oils on your child is always the safest and best idea. Here are the ways we use them:
1. Support a Healthy Immune System:
This is my main reason for using oils and why I apply an immunity support oil on my kids every morning. With school, playgroups, and sports, the kids are bound to come into contact with with another child who is sick. To defend against this you would want to use oils like lemon, lavender, or marjoram. I use the Immunity RMO Kids Line roller bottle. Just roll it on your child’s, chest, bottom of feet, or the back of the neck.
2. Staying Focused:
In school or during homework time I love using essential oils to help my kids stay focused and concentrate on the work that is in front of them. Before we start school work I use Concentrate from the RMO kids line. I apply it using the roller ball right to the back of their neck.
My guys are not always willing and ready for bed, but putting essential oils in our bedtime routine has really made a difference. I made a DIY After Bath Bedtime Lotion for them that we love using. When I need something quick I roll on some Counting Sheep to their feet, legs, or back. A gentle massage and then a story puts them right to sleep every time.
4. Help with Relive Tension:
The occasion head tension from a busy day can happen. To help ease them I love using essential oils such as orange, lemon, and basil. For the kids I just roll on Clear Head behind the ears and on the back of the neck.
5. Help with Upset Stomach:
When my kids get the occasional tummy aches or discomfort I reach for essential oils just as dill, black pepper, fennel, or ginger root. My favorite for this is the Tummy Time in the roller bottle that I can apply right to the tummy.
6. Keep Bugs Away:
I am NOT a fan of bugs. This summer I used essential oils to keep the bugs away and loved it. It’s a natural way to keep them off the kids with my DIY Bug Repellent Lotion. When we are out or in a hurry I like to keep a Bug Away in a roller bottle in my bag to re-apply every few hours we are outside.
7. Support for their Respiratory System
During the season changes or those chilly winter days I use essential oils like lemon, cedar wood, frankincense, or lavender to loosen mucus, relive the chest, and support our respiratory system. I use the Breath roller bottle to apply to my kids chest or back of the neck.
8. Help Sooth Rough and Irritated Skin:
My kids are prone to getting dry and irritated skin. To help soften skin and reduce discomfort I use the Skin Balance oil with cucumber, patchouli, frankincense, lavender, and helichrysum that is based in a fractioned coconut oil. I roll it on right to the area in need.
9. Scrapes and Bruises:
Every child will fall or trip while playing and get those small “ouchies” and bruises. That’s why I keep the Ouchie roller ball in my bag at all times! The perfect combination of oils to help sooth the sting of an “ouchie” and relieve soreness.
