I remember being a first time Mom. It was pretty overwhelming even before our little one arrived. Everyone, yes, EVERYONE (including strangers at the store) has some kind of advice to give you. It’s a lot to take in. I want to share with you how you can have a better beginning.
I think the first thing new moms wonder is “what in the world do I need?!” I know as a new mom I thought about it a lot. If you search it online you are going to find a ton of advice, and to be honest I didn’t use half the suggestions. Since it can be super overwhelming I wanted to share with you what should be on your baby registry, and include a free printable you can take to the store with you.
Right now my high school best friend and sister in law are both pregnant. It really wasn’t that long ago since I was a mom to a brand new baby. My youngest it only 2 years old and still in diapers. Before you do baby showers and celebrate you need to head to Target and register.
Target really is the one stop shop for baby. You can get all the supplies, all the clothes, and all the furniture and decor. I registered at Target because I new it was an easy and affordable option (probably why it’s the #1 choice) for my family and friends.
Head to the isles and start scanning. Make sure you print out my list to take a long with you so you don’t forget those must have items. I decided to head to Target with my list to get a shower gift for my friend!
First on the list, feeding. Head over to the infant/toddler section! I know feeding may seem straight forward when you’re breast feeding, but I was really thankful I had some Playtex Nurser with Drop-In Liners. I breast fed my youngest until he was 10 months old. Even though I was breast feeding I loved having bottles for nursery time or when daddy took over a nightly feeding for me. If you are breastfeeding and pumping for when you are not around you want to find a bottle like the Playtex Nurser because it’s a really similar feel to breast feeding. It simulates the same suck, swallow, and pattern as breast feeding which made it really easy to switch between bottle and breast.
Playtex Nurser with Drop-In Liners also helps baby latch naturally because it’s the most like mom. Breastfeeding or formula what ever your choice this honestly was my favorite bottle choice. I love the 8oz bottles and liners because it makes a super simple clean up, but also helps prevent air getting in baby’s belly because the liners collapses as baby drinks. Some more of my feeding must haves included, breast pump, nursing pillow, burp cloths, bottle brush, and drying rack.
Next I went shopping for Nursery items. The first thing I picked up is something every new mom needs in the nursery, the Diaper Genie Complete.
This doesn’t need much explanation really. No one wants a stinky nursery! I made sure to grab the new Diaper Genie Complete for my friend because it has the most advanced system yet due to it’s ultimate odor lock system. 7-layer refill bag, and air-tite clamp, and holds 270 dirty diapers! Not to mention it’s the easiest system yet, because it has a pedal for a one hand toss!
If you’re a new mama make sure to print your Baby Registry Checklist, HERE. If you are like me and getting a gift for your first time mama friends pick the Playtex Nurser with Drop-In Liners and Diaper Genie Complete up for the perfect shower gift!
