Diaper Bag Must Haves
Let me just start with tell you about my very first diaper bag. It was my first baby so I thought I needed to bring everything and the kitchen sink in my diaper bag and would end up with a sore arm from toting that thing around town! I wised up the 2nd time around, limited what I carried in my diaper bag and I had a little trick up my sleeve that changed everything!
Before I go into details about what I always keep in my diaper bag, let me tell you about this little trick that saved this mom from having a sore shoulder and overly full diaper bag. My tip, the car. Yep your car. I keep backup and storage in my car at all time. When I had my first baby he was the king of spit up! I had to be prepared with at least 3-4 outfits for an outing. Instead of toting all the outfits around from store to store I keep a tub in my truck with extras in my truck. 3-4 spare outfits (if your baby is still small I like to keep sleepers), extra diapers, wipes, and blankets. Carry what you need, but you always have a back up in your car just incase. Once you have the back up you can keep minimal in the bag.
1. Diapers, wipes, changing pat, rash cream. This is a no brainer I know, but it’s the most important! I’ve been caught several times out when I find I only have one wipe left! You use them and forget to re-stock the bag! This is when that car back up comes in handy.
2. Clothes, hats, socks, jacket. Of course the season will depend on what kind you bring. It’s always cold in doors so I like to keep socks in my bag all year long. A sleeper is so much easier to pack than an entire outfit and an extra coat and hat incase they decided to spit up on it and it’s to cold to go without.
3. Toys, books, teething toys, and blanket. If it has not happened yet it will. You are in the the store and your little one decided to have a melt down. Whatever the reason a favorite blanket or toy will help keep them entertained while you shop. My kids teethed hard so I always keep a teether toy in the bag. Better then chewing on the straps of the cart… gross.
, 5. Bottles, formula, snacks for the big kids and for mommy. Snacks for everyone is a must! They always keep the kids quite and keep me running. When I was breastfeeding I especially made sure to keep a snack for myself on hand! My favorite was V8® Veggie Blends. It’s the affordable way to get your recommended daily intake of veggies, but has the great fruit taste. You need to make sure to take care of yourself moms, and V8® Veggie Blends is an excellent source of antioxidant vitamins A, C & E plus it’s 75% juice and 25% pure water with no sugar added, just 60 caloriesand no artificial colors, flavors or added preservatives. I’m already doing my grocery shopping at Walmart so I make sure to pick up a few bottles when I go to keep in my bag for busy days we are out.
Since you are a mom, you are always on the go, always busy, and always helping someone so a quick snack in your diaper bag is going to be a must! I picked up the two new flavors of V8®’s Veggie Blends from Walmart: Berry Bliss and Caribbean Greens. They are so yummy!
Go check out V8 Healthy Greens, another great V8 Veggie drink to find your favorite flavor. Which flavor will you try?
